Dupixent is used to treat adults and adolescents 12 years and older with moderate-to-severe atopic eczema (atopic dermatitis) who are candidates for systemic therapy. This medicine contains the active substance dupilumab.
Uncontrolled moderate-to-severe atopic eczema is an immune system disorder that causes excess inflammation in the skin, which results, for example, in itching and skin redness. This medicine targets part of your immune system, whose activity leads to manifestations of atopic dermatitis.
More specifically, this medicine works to block cells that cause inflammation from communicating with each other, thus helping to relieve both the signs and symptoms of atopic dermatitis.
